Thomas Schaeffer has got back together with his ex-wife, and has come to realize that all consuming absorption in his work precludes a happy family life. Much to Katrine Ries Jensen’s chagrin, he resigns from the police in order to take up his former post at the University.

But as his final day approaches, a violent case from his past crops up. As a young psychologist, he failed to commit a patient with war trauma who was manically drawing details of brutal murders, accidents and other incidents again and again. When these bloody scenes resurface, enacted as real killings, Thomas is compelled to pursue the case to the end of the line. And it unfolds in a far more violent way than he could possibly have imagined…

THE COMPANY

Miso Film was founded in 2004 by the producer team Jonas Allen and Peter Bose, who started their collaboration on the Swedish thriller and crime series BECK and WALLANDER. The company is behind and most known for the Danish TV-series THOSE WHO KILL, three seasons of TV 2’s DICTE, Ole Bornedal’s war epic 1864 and latest Christoffer Boe’s highly acclaimed WARRIOR and the popular Viaplay original DARKNESS – THOSE WHO KILL, a reboot of the successful series. Miso Film is also located in Norway, where they have produced the film series VARG VEUM as well as the TV-series AQUITTED, and two seasons of MODUS in Sweden, a TV-series based on Anne Holts crime novels.
 On the big screen Miso Film has featured with the thriller success THE CANDIDATE as well as co-produced the Norwegian World War II resistance drama MAX MANUS. Furthermore, the company is behind the Danish comedies LONG STORY SHORT and HEAVY LOAD, the family film franchise IQBAL FAROOQ based on Manu Sareen’s childrens books and latest Ole Bornedal’s box-office hits SMALL TOWN KILLERS and THE WAY TO MANDALAY. The company is behind Scandinavia’s first original Netflix series THE RAIN and is currently producing the second season of the popular young adult series. Additionally, the company is finishing Christoffer Boe’s highly anticipated crime series FACE TO FACE, which is set to premiere on Viaplay in the fall of 2019.
